Renault has just introduced new purchase aids for an electric car. A boost that is added to those already existing, such as the ecological bonus. We explain what it is, and how much you can expect.
Good news if you are considering buying an electric car from Renault like the recent R5 e-Tech. Indeed, the diamond brand and Stellantis have just announced the implementation of new purchase aids accessible to both individuals and professionals.
A notable fact is that this financial boost will be valid for Renault electric vehicles, but also for Dacia, Alpine or Mobilize, the brand specializing in urban mobility solutions. In addition, it is possible to take advantage of it for the purchase of a watt-powered car, but also an electric quadricycle like the Mobilize Duo/Bento or a utility vehicle. In other words, almost everyone can benefit from it (there are not even any income conditions).
Energy Savings Certificates, a new boost
But what exactly are we talking about? To summarize, since March 3, 2025, customers can benefit from assistance via Energy Savings Certificates (CEE). This system, launched in 2005, was opened this year to electric car manufacturers. Here's what it's all about:
“This system requires obligated parties, mainly energy sellers, to achieve an energy savings target over a defined period. These savings can be achieved through the acquisition of these CEEs, issued through the completion of various actions and operations that help reduce energy consumption. At the end of the period, obligated parties must provide a sufficient number of certificates to meet their energy savings targets. Failing this, they risk financial penalties,” Renault explains in an official press release.
Without going into detail, you should know that this assistance is in addition to other existing ones such as the ecological bonus. This is an immediate discount on the price of the vehicle, and as mentioned above, it is applied automatically without income conditions. Of course, depending on the vehicle and the type of customer, the amounts vary. At Stellantis, they can range between €300 and €4,500 for example. For Renault, we remain on roughly similar scales (table visible below).
