Samsung's One UI 7 update, scheduled for early April, marks a significant evolution of the user interface for Galaxy devices. In addition to a visual refresh, it introduces several new AI-powered features. But Samsung specifies that some of these will be limited to specific models, creating disparities between users depending on their device. Let's take a look.
One UI 7's New Galaxy AI Features
Samsung has officially unveiled seven new AI features that will accompany the One UI 7 update. Among them, the "Now Bar" stands out for its ability to display real-time updates on the lock screen.
Here is a list of other new features in One UI 7:
- AI Select, which intelligently adapts the selection of content on the screen;
- Writing Assist, which allows you to generate or summarize text by selecting a writing area;
- Drawing Assist, which makes it easier to create images from sketches and text;
- Audio Eraser, which removes unwanted sounds in videos;
- Gemini integration, for quick access to Google's AI via a press of the side button;
- Natural language search in Settings, which allows users to perform contextual searches based on phrases like “my eyes are tired” to activate the visual comfort feature, for example.
The Now Brief feature, which offers a personalized daily summary using AI, remains exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series for now.
Which devices will benefit from all the features?
While the majority of these new features are being rolled out to all devices compatible with One UI 7, some features will remain limited to specific models. Notably, Audio Eraser and Natural Language Search in Settings will only be available on select Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
