Alexa products would no longer be limited to connected speakers. Amazon plans to develop other smart objects to integrate the new version of its AI, Alexa+.
During an interview, Panos Panay, head of devices at Amazon, outlines the brand's future in terms of objects connected. In order to integrate its new version of home AI, Alexa+, the company could offer other things than speakers.
This would start with the creation of three global ranges, literally translated as "entry, core, or signature." Their names still have time to change before arriving in our homes. On the program: Echo models of course, but also products that we didn't necessarily expect to see stamped Amazon, or Alexa in this case.
Amazon suggests that it is preparing bracelets, watches, or connected glasses.
At the center of this renewal, the AI Alexa+. “We're imagining the next step for customers in AI devices and we have some incredible ones in development,” says Panay. He remains cautious and doesn't make any official announcements. However, he is generous with hints that leave little room for doubt: augmented reality glasses and wrist-worn accessories could be among the new features to come, without further details.

It would even be an opportunity to make a big comeback in a market where the company suffered a resounding failure a few years ago: the domestic robot. Despite the Astro fiasco in 2021, Panos Panay explains that if a robot will give people more reasons to use Alexa, then he will ensure that Amazon has “a great robot“.
On the other hand, don't expect a smartphone, the Fire Phone was enough. But the man leaves a door open, specifying that it would be “stupid […] not to step back and look at how the world is changing […]. You always have to evaluate“. The first connected object that is part of this renewal will be presented in the fall of 2025, that is, between September and the end of the year.
