Game on hold for an indefinite period
What does this mean for Crysis 4? The title has just been put on hold, and some of the developers will likely be reassigned to the continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896.This is what Crytek explains in its press release. The development of Crysis 4 is therefore very uncertain, despite the hype caused by the teaser shared 3 years ago.
For those who don't know, the franchise features soldiers equipped with nanosuits that offer superhuman abilities. The first installment plunged the player onto an island where he faced military and extraterrestrial forces. Crysis 2 took the action to New York in the midst of an alien invasion, while Crysis 3 mixed urban and natural environments, notably introducing a high-tech bow as a new weapon.
The Crysis 4 teaser, although brief, evokes a dark and post-apocalyptic atmosphere. It shows ruined structures and technological elements reconstituting themselves to form the number “4”, recalling the emblematic nanotechnology of the series. To date, little information has been revealed about the game. Crytek had specified that it was still in early development, and no official release date had been announced.
