The Galaxy S25 finally receives the security update of March 2025, better late than never

Software updates play an essential role in smartphone security. Every month, manufacturers release patches to fix potential bugs and keep their devices up to date. At Samsung, this schedule is generally well respected, but some models can sometimes be served later than others. The Galaxy S25, although it had just been released, had not yet received the March patch, while other older models were already up to date.

It is precisely this delay that Samsung is beginning to correct. The Galaxy S25, launched with Android 15 and One UI 7, had so far kept the February patch. The manufacturer had started rolling out the March update at the beginning of the month for other phones, but its high-end series remained stuck at the previous stage. This delay was all the more surprising since it is the brand's flagship model for 2025.

Samsung is rolling out the update March update for the Galaxy S25 in Europe

After an initial launch in South Korea, the update is now available in Europe. It has the firmware number S93xBXXS1AYC2 and concerns the entire Galaxy S25 range, from the standard model to the S25 Ultra. It follows the Korean version S938NKSUAYC3 already spotted earlier in the month. The file weighs approximately 580 MB. It does not contain any visible new features, but brings the security patch March 2025, which fixes several critical vulnerabilities identified by Google and Samsung. Some of these flaws could allow unauthorized or remote access to data. This is the second software patch for the Galaxy S25 since its launch in February. Despite the slight delay, the devices remain well positioned, with the latest system versions and a promise of 7 years of software support. This update allows European users to strengthen the security of their device and enjoy more stable operation. To take advantage of it, simply go to Settings > Software Update, then start the download.
