According to a journalist, the portable Xbox which would aim to highlight Cloud Gaming would be well on the way on the side from the Redmond firm.
A portable Xbox to rival the PS Portal?
Last year, Sony released the PlayStation Portal, a portable accessory designed to play remotely on PS5, wherever you are in the world. If, since its announcement, very few players were excited by the proposition, it is quite interesting to see that the PS Portal is a real success far exceeding Sony's expectations.
For its part, Microsoft is also preparing a response and has been for several years. Rumors are starting to become more and more numerous concerning the portable Xbox. Recently, it was once again the journalist Jez Corden who spoke out on the subject during a new podcast «The Xbox Two» on Rand al Thor's channel 19.
According to the journalist, his sources confirmed to him that Microsoft would present new hardware as early as next year. Still according to the latter, it would be «mobile» hardware allowing it to be transported in order to take it everywhere with us. Like the Switch, the player would have the possibility of «placing it on a table» the famous console.
Everything points to believe that Microsoft is indeed preparing a portable Xbox that will allow you to play all your games anywhere. As a reminder, the American firm should begin testing this November to expand the possibilities of Cloud Gaming in order to be able to play a selection of games that are not part of the Xbox Game Pass.
Still according to Jez, this new console should not be announced this year, nor even at the Game Awards. Everything suggests that Microsoft is targeting the Summer Game Fest and the traditional June period.
