The Xbox application updates on PC and is more ambitious than ever

Microsoft is determined to improve the PC gamer experience and has just updated the Xbox application allowing access to even more PC games, even for titles that are not present on the PC Game Pass.

A more complete Xbox application than ever

There are now around a hundred additional games that appear in the Xbox application following a recent update update, as Microsoft seeks to make even more PC games accessible to its ecosystem.

In total, more than 400 new games are arriving on the application, including titles from Japanese studios such as Kemco and Kairosoft. Among the 400 games, around 100 are compatible with the Xbox Play Anywhere feature. As a result, if you purchase the Xbox console version, you can also play the Xbox PC version at no additional cost.

Thanks to this new update, several bugs have been resolved (as the application was far from perfect in this area). We also have the right to other improvements like the ability to find Xbox Play Anywhere games that are available in the Microsoft Store.

More than ever, Microsoft is determined to improve and promote its ecosystem and cross Play between Xbox and PC, as confirmed by Chris Charla, general manager of content curation and programs at Xbox: “Earlier this summer, we began working with partners to integrate all PC games with Xbox features into the Xbox app. We’re excited to see what Xbox games will soon be coming to Windows PC from game makers, and to welcome nearly 400 titles that were previously undiscoverable and unpurchasable in the Xbox app [… Universal Xbox ownership, along with universal cloud saves on Xbox, and cross-play between Xbox versions on console and PC (and other platforms, at the developer’s discretion) are great features that gamers love.”

Microsoft’s primary focus will be on growing out its Windows app and store. Recently, the American giant has done everything to attract more and more publishers even reducing its share from 30% to just 12% to try to shake up the PC gaming market. Despite this, many games that offer Xbox-PC cross-play are not yet available on the Microsoft Store or on Game Pass.
