The development of the MCU is not about to slow down and is already preparing the ground for the next big event for fans: Avengers Doomsday. And if the Marvel cinematic universe has already featured many characters, some are still waiting their turn. In our eyes, this one could well be a game changer.
The MCU has been around for over 10 years now, and in addition to 35 films (not counting the series), the cinematic universe of the House of Ideas has brought to light dozens and dozens of superheroes and supervillains. Sometimes even to the point of making deviations from the comics, by transforming certain secondary characters from the comics into real pillars of the MCU.
We think for example of Mantis, an essential character from the Guardians of the Galaxy, yet often forgotten in the great sagas of the comics. Or of Okoye, right-hand man of Black Panther and leader of the Dora Milaje, a character very appreciated in the MCU and who has only had the right to a very brief development in the comics.
On the other hand, many characters who are nevertheless central in the comics have not yet had the right to a proper introduction in the MCU. A whole host of superheroes and supervillains are patiently waiting to come to life on the big screen, and there are some who could really give a boost to a somewhat dull cinematic universe (at least, currently). And if we had to choose just one, our choice would be an X-Men, or rather a X-Men.

Marvel is already preparing the ground for the arrival of the X-Men
As you can see, You may know, we now know that the X-Men are set to arrive in the MCU soon. Marvel has already started laying the foundations, first with the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 of course. And then more recently, in Captain America 4: Brave New World, with the introduction of a metal well known to Logan fans: Adamantium. It is this alloy that covers the skeleton of the mutant with sharp claws.
In an interview with Screen Rant, the film's director Julius Onah made it clear that the references to Adamantium were not a simple wink to the fans. No, the material will be at the center of a vast global conflict for its control while adding that it will one day be a central element of Project X:
“What's great about the MCU is that the opportunity to take iconic elements from the comics and find a way to reimagine them in this universe in a way that could be really exciting. And because we haven't had mutants in the past, because we haven't had adamantium, it's become such a fun way to surprise the audience with kind of a new vision of what it could be.”
This X-Men could very well blow up the MCU
That said, you'll have to be patient with some see Professor Xavier's mutants land in the MCU films. According to statements from Marvel Studios' bigwig Kevin Feige, their arrival is not expected before Phase 6 and the release of Avengers Secret Wars in theaters on May 5, 2027. "Secret Wars will lead us into a new era for mutants and the X-Men," he assured.
In the meantime, we can therefore speculate on the identity of the future X-Men to come in the MCU. Of course, there are several potential candidates, but as said above, an X-Men could, in our opinion, bring a breath of fresh air (or rather a hurricane) to the MCU. As you will have understood with this play on words, it is Tornado (Storm in the original version).
For good reason, it is one of the most popular X-Men. His current solo series is a hit with bookstores and above all, the character is already well known to the general public thanks to his appearances in the first X-Men trilogy from Fox. She was embodied, as a reminder, by the impeccable Halle Berry.
A rich history in comics
Apart from her super-powerful ability to control the climate (which could lead to some pretty crazy action scenes), Tornade, or Ororo Munroe by her real name, has a particularly rich history in comics. Of course, in addition to her leadership position within the X-Men after Cyclops left, the mutant also collaborated with the Fantastic Four to face the Badoons.
Storm also maintained close ties with Wakanda, since she was married to King T'Challa aka BlackPanther in the comics. Following the formation of the island nation of Krakoa, Tornada was also part of the Council, the governing body of the mutant nation. She later became regent of the planet Arrako, and a member of its council: the Great Ring.
Note that she also has great potential for magic and the mystical arts due to her ancestry. So many story arcs that could serve to connect Storm with elements and characters already present in the MCU. And you, which character still absent from the MCU would you like to see on screen? Tell us in the comments.
