We have seen (very) close to the Apple Vision Pro of Samsung on Android XR

At MWC 2025, we had the opportunity to take a close look at Samsung's new Android XR headset. The opportunity to study its design which already gives interesting information on the direction taken by Samsung for its future mixed reality headset.

Known as the "Moohan project", the future mixed reality headset (combining virtual reality and physical reality) augmented reality) from Samsung will run on the new Android XR interface. The first impression of the product is that it looks very similar to Apple's Vision Pro. Samsung specifies that the design presented here is not definitive, but it is difficult to see the Korean brand radically modifying it before its commercialization, which is still unknown at the time of writing.

At the front, the screen houses several cameras that can reproduce your environment in augmented reality, but which are not intended to display your eyes like Apple's headset. This is not really a flaw since this feature has divided opinions on the Vision Pro. It will also allow Samsung to make some savings and probably offer a more attractive price. On the top edge, there are two buttons that allow you to interact with the interface, such as the “Circle to search” feature that will take a screenshot of what you see and then analyze it and provide you with relevant information.

On the right branch, there is a touch surface that offers additional controls, but also a speaker grille, which is also found on the other branch. On the other side, you can see a magnetic connector that allows you to connect an external battery to ensure the headset's autonomy. The good news is that you can disconnect the cable to put in the external battery of your choice. A detail that is not one and that allows to distinguish a little more the Moohan project from the Apple Vision.

We hope to be able to test the headset quickly to tell you more about the new Android XR software platform. It is not every day that Google releases a new OS, and this partnership with Samsung feeds a lot of anticipation.
