The arrival of the next Nintendo console is long awaited. Nearly seven years after the release of the first Switch, the new version of the hybrid console has been expected for months, and has been playing on our nerves with each new trailer released. Whether it's the next Professor Layton game, or the platformer Yooka-Laylee, the upcoming titles that will make the Big N's heyday are careful not to mention precisely the name of the console on which they will run, leaving fans plenty of time to make plans on the comet.
This week, however, it is not a new console that Nintendo has made official. We'll have to make do with it, the Japanese company has announced the launch of a mobile application soberly named Nintendo Music, and decided to stream music from the most iconic soundtracks in its catalog. Whether you're more into Splatoon, Animal Crossing or The Legend of Zelda, the application was launched a few hours ago on iOS and Android smartphones. The only condition to take advantage of it: be a subscriber to the company's Switch Online service.
What is a Switch Online subscription?

- Unlimited access to the Classic catalog, with NES, Super NES and Game Boy games
- A backup cloud to keep your games and games safe
- A dedicated application to access certain in-game features, and use voice chat

- The possibility of purchasing certain exclusive products, such as retro controllers
- Now access to the Nintendo Music application on iOS and Android

Music for fans
As with any other music streaming application, you can use Nintendo Music to listen to themed playlists, based on your favorite games, periods and characters. It will also be possible to filter certain content via the spoilers option, so as not to be confronted with information likely to spoil the game you are discovering on console. It will also be possible to create your own playlists, and download them later for offline listening.
Available in France starting today, and in 45 other countries around the world, this launch comes just after the launch of the very gadget Nintendo Alarmo, as well as a mysterious MMO game, currently in the testing phase. The fact remains that if the announcements are far from interesting, the world is still waiting for a proper officialization of the Switch 2.
