After Xbox's Developer Direct and Playstation's State of Play, the world of independent video games will soon take its revenge. Low-budget titles will also greatly impact our year 2025 and Annapurna Interactive is among the first concerned. The publishing label will organize a conference that will present the line-up of some of the most popular independent studios of the moment.
This will happen on February 24, at 6 p.m. French time, on Annapurna Interactive's YouTube channel. The broadcast will be live and will feature not only trailers but also the developers of the games to comment on them alongside their release. In the short teaser shared by the publisher, we get a glimpse of what awaits us, from puzzle games to adventure titles to simulators.
Will Stray 2 be part of it?
For the moment, Annapurna has not detailed its roadmap. However, the firm has a few tricks up its sleeve that are worth keeping in mind. The label is at the origin of the edition of the game Stray, whose sequel was confirmed several months ago. No news has reached us since the announcement, so we are counting on this conference to teach us more about it since Stray 2 did not make an appearance at Sony's State of Play.
It is also the most requested title by the community at the moment. We remind you that Stray is an adventure game in which you play as a cat, in a post-apocalyptic world devoid of humans but filled with intelligent robots. Developed by the French studio BlueTwelve, it won the Game of the Year and Indie Game of the Year awards at the 2023 Pégases.
Pure Annapurna Interactive awaits us
In addition, we can expect quality content, in the same vein as what Annapurna has offered us in recent years. Between 12 Minutes, What Remains of Edith Finch, Outer Wilds or even Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, there is no shortage of good games. The publisher stands by an almost perfect line of conduct, sometimes going beyond independent gaming to take a few steps into the world of AA games, the specialty of Focus Entertainment.
