Remember, at the beginning of January, we learned through the insider TheGhostOfHope, specialized in leaks concerning Call of Duty, and therefore everything related to Microsoft games and consoles, that the American company would be in full preparation of its new generation: Xbox Prime.
According to the insider, it would be an "open secret" as Microsoft does not hide it and the entire video game industry would be aware of it. We learned today that the project would be fully validated and budgeted on the Microsoft side and that the next generation of Xbox would be in full production.
Xbox Prime: Microsoft soon to return?
After insider TheGhostOfHope, it is the turn of the fairly renowned journalist Jez Corden, at Windows Central, to speak out and discuss the new generation of Xbox. As a reminder, he was the first to mention an Xbox Series S in 2019/2020 just before the launch of the previous generation. Jez Corden and the media Windows Central are generally known for being very well informed regarding Microsoft's gaming plans and projects.
Although he was not the first to discuss this new generation codenamed Xbox Prime, Jez Corden seems to validate all of this and adds his two cents to share additional information with us. Apparently, Microsoft would have validated the project, allowing this new Xbox to go beyond the first phases of development. The project would thus be fully approved and budgeted by the company.
Jez Corden nevertheless temporizes by specifying that the announcement is not planned for right away. The journalist does not give any information on a possible revelation and release of this next Xbox. As a reminder, the insider TheGhostOfHope had confirmed that the objective was to release this new Xbox for November 2026, at the same time as the release of the new Call of Duty game.
