While AppLovin is little known to the general public, this American company nevertheless made waves in 2011 with a very notable IPO on Wall Street. Specializing in monetization, advertising, and engagement solutions, AppLovin is among the latest companies that could take over TikTok.

Amazon, potential buyer of TikTok or simple publicity stunt?

With a deadline fast approaching, the social network TikTok is particularly coveted. Indeed, according to the New York Times, Amazon has just submitted an offer to acquire TikTok in a letter addressed to the White House.

According to a source close to White House advisers, the offer would unfortunately not be taken seriously, given its late arrival date. On the American giant's side, no spokesperson wished to comment on this offer, including Jeff Bezos, the former CEO of Amazon.

A thorny situation that dates back more than a year...

For ByteDance, the situation has been very tense since Joe Biden, the former President of the United States, signed a bipartisan law concerning the TikTok case. Indeed, this law requires the owner of the application, ByteDance, to sell TikTok to a non-Chinese buyer to avoid being banned on American soil.

After his inauguration on January 20, the President of the United States Donald Trump had extended this deadline by signing a decree upon taking office. Indeed, ByteDance had publicly declared that it was not interested in selling its application.

Currently, the situation has not changed on the side of the Chinese giant, and the standoff should continue in the coming days. Vice President J.D. Vance, along with other White House officials, are keeping a very close eye on the situation, especially since a meeting scheduled for Wednesday in the Oval Office failed to produce a favorable outcome.
