Assassin's Creed: One of the best games in the saga leaks again

Just after Assassin's Creed Shadows was released, Ubisoft reportedly plans to release a remake of one of the best games in its franchise this year. The title has been leaking constantly lately.

Assassin's Creed: One of the best games in the saga leaks again

Several Assassin's Creed projects on the way

After several successive failures, Ubisoft seems to have hit the nail on the head with Assassin's Creed Shadows. Since its release on March 20, the game has gotten off to a strong start with over 3 million players worldwide. This is what Ubisoft is claiming, although we will have to wait for concrete sales figures from Ubisoft to truly judge the game's success or not.

While the French studio has an eye in the rearview mirror, it is definitely looking towards the future. For several months now, or even for some several years, we have been hearing about other games in the license in development, a project called Assassin's Creed Hexe expected in several years, as well as a remake of the first part and the fourth: Black Flag. It is even the latter that comes up most often in leaks.

Assassin's Creed IV remake expected this year?

Insider Tom Henderson has confirmed that the Assassin's Creed IV remake should be released before Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, after Kotaku spotted the mention "Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Remake" on a Ubisoft employee's LinkedIn page (which was immediately deleted). This time, the game is making waves on the PlayStation Store. The page also lists the title as "announced," as if Ubisoft had already officially announced its title. Be careful though, this could just be a simple bug that occurred on the PSN.

It is rumored that the remake of Assassin's Creed IV could make headlines at the next Summer Game Fest in June 2025, during which the French publisher is due to hold its annual conference. The perfect opportunity to confirm or deny the various rumors about a thoroughly revised gameplay, and an overhaul carried out via the Anvil Engine, the engine used for AC Shadows.
