Assassin's Creed Shadows: The return of this feature confirmed in advance

Ubisoft continues to build up the hype around Assassin's Creed Shadows. And this time, it's a short video clip that's getting people talking. Published on the franchise's official Twitter account, the clip shows what looks like the return of a move well-known to fans. Here's an explanation.

A familiar move spotted by fans for Assassin's Creed Shadows

In this short sequence specific to Assassin's Creed Shadows, we briefly see the character performing a lateral movement while parkouring. Regular players will have quickly recognized the side eject, this iconic lateral jump from the old Assassin's Creed games, notably Unity or the Ezio trilogy. This type of gesture allows you to gain fluidity, moving from one wall to another hold without having to go back down. It's a detail, but for parkour purists, it's a real difference.

Nothing has been officially confirmed for Assassin's Creed Shadows yet. But Ubisoft is preparing a post-launch presentation for next week. The publisher is expected to reveal the main points of the content to come after the game's release. Side eject could therefore be part of the new features planned via an update. Or it is already present in the base game, but simply had not been shown yet.

A nod to early fans

In recent years, the Assassin's Creed series has taken a more RPG turn. Exploration remains central, but parkour has lost some of its complexity. The return of a move as specific as the side eject perhaps shows a desire to reconnect with the DNA of the saga. And even if it's only a detail for Assassin's Creed Shadows, it's enough to reawaken the interest of players who miss the more precise mechanics of past episodes. It remains to be seen what the game has in store for us next, because we imagine that this won't be the only new feature in the game.
