Black Mirror: The Fouloïdes is a mobile game that is being released today alongside season 7 of the series. The game is linked to one of these new episodes, as well as to the film Bandersnatch.
Netflix is streaming season 7 of Black Mirror, consisting of six new episodes, starting April 10, 2025. To accompany the release of this new batch of its cult series, the streaming platform has also released a mobile game, titled Black Mirror: Les Fouloïdes (Thronglets in the original version), available now on Android and iOS.
This smartphone and tablet game takes the form of a retro simulation of virtual animals and refers to the episode “Simple Toys” from the final season of Black Mirror, which itself is set in the same universe as the plot of the interactive film Bandersnatch. “These pixel art creatures won’t just invade your phone; they might just take over your life,” reads the title’s description.

Fouloïdes “is not a game, but a life form whose biology is entirely digital”, explains Netflix in a meta way. Like a tamagotchi, it's about taking care of your Fouloids by feeding them, washing them, and playing with them so that they can evolve and multiply. New tools, abilities, objects, and buildings are unlocked as you progress.
Netflix has been developing its video game division in recent years, notably with the mobile adaptation of several major independent games, such as Immortality, Oxenfree 2, and The Rise of the Golden Idol. The audiovisual group recently put a stop to part of its video game production, but continues to capitalize on its strong licenses, such as Stranger Things, Squid Game, or Black Mirror.
To download the game, you can go to the gaming section of the Netflix application, or go directly through the Play Store on Android or the App Store on iOS. The game is included with your Netflix subscription at no extra cost, but it is inaccessible if you are not subscribed to the SVOD service.
