The latest Call of Duty installment has shattered all records. A true commercial success, BO 6 has been keeping players busy since last October. It has been releasing updates at a regular pace, now piqued the interest of players. However, the future of the franchise is already making headlines. Future installments are gradually taking shape through leaks of all kinds. The latest ones concern what is currently being called "Call of Duty Black Ops 7" and they announce a change to the formula.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Sees Big
Lately, informal news surrounding the 2025 and 2026 Call of Duty games has been pouring in. However, the form they will take respectively is still uncertain, although some clues are beginning to indicate it. One of them could be the one we will call COD Black Ops 7 (pending a definitive title).
The playtest phases are reportedly underway for this Call of Duty Black Ops 7. However, in this kind of situation, it is not uncommon for information to leak. This would be the case here, if we believe a certain Bigbyy on Reddit. The user shared various details about the upcoming title, which he would have had the opportunity to play.
First of all, the story of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 would allow up to 4 players to play in cooperation. It would take place in 2035, according to him. It would follow that of COD BO 2, even involving two characters well known to players: Woods and Mason. However, given the latter's age in the original opus, doubts still persist about his appearance. Finally, it would take us, among other things, to a large open-world map called Avalon.
For its part, the Black Ops 7 multiplayer would feature a 32 vs. 32 mode. According to the leaker, several previous maps would be revisited in a futuristic Japanese style. Also, it seems that the progression system will follow the BO 6 model. It would include various elements, such as kiilstreaks and perks.
Bigbyy would also have had the opportunity to try out the zombie mode of this COD Black Ops 7 and it looks huge! This version would offer a map size never before seen in the saga for this mode. In addition, we would be entitled to a remake of the Tranzit map. Finally, the story would also regain importance and would see the return of the original team but in alternative versions.
The reactions to this leak are not the warmest. The campaign leaves fans relatively doubtful1. Moreover, the playtester mentions the return of omnimovement and therefore the ability to running on walls, which doesn't really appeal to them2. Generally speaking, the constant variations in gameplay from one installment to the next are far from reassuring them for this Call of Duty Black Ops 7.
