In a thank you video for Resident Evil 4 Remake players, Capcom sets the tone by subtly teasing Resident Evil 9.
Resident Evil 4 Remake, which we greatly appreciated, has reached 10 million players. To mark the occasion, Capcom has released a video thanking the community on social media. One image shows an in-game sign with messages of appreciation addressed to players in English and Spanish.
The more observant have noticed that this famous sign has been modified for the occasion. Turning your head a little, you can clearly see that it now takes the form IX. The meaning of all this is unequivocal: Capcom is taking advantage of its tribute to the Resident Evil 4 Remake community to begin Resident Evil 9 teaser, its next major game in the survival horror franchise.
Resident Evil 9 is making itself desired
The publisher could soon communicate properly about the title, which is however not expected to be released in 2025. For the moment, we don't know much about this opus. According to the latest rumors evoking the story of Resident Evil 9, the plot would take place a few years after the events of Resident Evil Village. Ethan Winters is not expected to return, at least not in the role of the main character. His daughter Rose, on the other hand, would occupy an important place in the plot.

To pique players' interest, Capcom is reportedly bringing out the big guns by bringing back Jill Valentine and Leon Scott Kennedy as playable characters. Chris Redfield and Barry Burton could also make an appearance. Nemesis-type enemies, who chase us from time to time and cannot be killed, are also said to be on the program.
Gameplay-wise, it's an unknown. Resident Evil 7 and 8 have pushed the horror aspect after Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 which focused on action. Perhaps Capcom will offer both aspects depending on the character you play (horror for Jill and action for Leon for example), but this is only a supposition. We trust the publisher, very good in recent years on the quality of the games released, to surprise us.
