CyberPunk 2077: CD Projekt Red to improve Switch 2 version before release

Last week, during the Nintendo Direct dedicated to the Nintendo Switch 2, CD Projekt announced the port of CyberPunk 2077, the Ultimate Edition of the game with the DLC Phantom Liberty, which will arrive on the day of the console's release, June 5, 2025, in physical version (with the entire game and its DLC on the cartridge), but also in digital version.

Unfortunately, after the euphoria of the announcement, room for doubts. According to an initial report from Digital Foundry, the trailer for CyberPunk 2077 on Switch 2 is far from stable and optimized, with drops in resolution. While the title aims for 30 FPS at 1080p, Digital Foundry notes performance drops at 540p and 24 FPS.

A few days after its findings, CD Projekt Red spoke out and confirmed that the game will be entitled to many improvements between now and the game's release.

CyberPunk 2077 still in full development on Switch 2

Information about the port of CyberPunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is starting to become clearer. The Polish studio confirms that the target is 1080p resolution and 40 to 30 FPS in docked mode and 720p and 30 FPS in portable mode. Following the presentation of the game, via a first trailer, CD Projekt Red confirms that development and optimization are not yet complete and that the game will be entitled to more improvements between now and the game's release on June 5.

The studio also confirmed that CyberPunk2077 will offer cross-progression with other versions. It will therefore be possible to resume a game started on PS5, PC or Xbox Series on our Switch2 (and vice versa). As a reminder, the game will be sold for 69.99 euros on Nintendo Switch2.
