EA FC 25 Welcomes Its First Season Pass and Players Are Angry

We recently talked about it on Gameblog: a Season Pass for EA FC 25 had leaked, and it's now completely official. Unsurprisingly, this has many players grinding their teeth, who don't want to spend even more on their favorite football game.

EA FC 25 and the Season Pass that displeases

It's official: EA FC 25 is innovating by introducing, for the very first time, a paid Season Pass. Until now, players were entitled to a free pass to unlock rewards. But this year, EA wants to go further. And of course, it has already generated a lot of buzz.

Specifically, this new EA FC 25 Premium Season Pass is in addition to the existing free pass. It can be accessed in two ways. Either by spending 500,000 FUT coins (if you're rich in the game). Or by paying 1,000 FC Points, which is around 10 euros. In other words, regular players will be able to get it without having to take out their credit card. But for the majority, a quick trip to the store will probably be necessary. Just read the various comments on social media to realize that this kind of practice is already not acceptable. Many players seem quite angry about the situation.

What rewards are in this new pass?

The EA FC 25 Premium Pass offers 40 tiers of content. With each level reached, you unlock much more interesting rewards than usual. Among them:

  • Tradable packs (even the really big ones, like the 90+ x4)
  • SP points to speed up your progress
  • Ultra rare ICON players, rated 94, 95... and even a Franck Ribéry at 96

In short, enough to seriously strengthen your Ultimate Team squad without depending solely on luck. Ultimate Team has been a cash machine for EA for years. The free Season Pass was introduced to encourage players to stay active. But faced with competition and changing expectations, offering a paid pass seemed inevitable. This new system allows EA to offer more content... while monetizing even more of its loyal players on EA FC 25. A logical choice from a business perspective, but one that won't please everyone.
