While waiting for its spin-off Nightreign, Elden Ring and its DLC Shadow of the World Tree were invited to the Nintendo Direct to share a big announcement related to the presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2. FromSoftware's masterpiece will indeed join the Japanese giant's catalog thanks to its highly anticipated new console.
Elden Ring is revealed on Nintendo Switch 2
Until now available on PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Elden Ring is finally completing its list of achievements by adding the Nintendo Switch 2 to its list of achievements. The announcement was made by Nintendo as part of the Direct specially dedicated to its upcoming console starting this June 5th. Thus, the acclaimed title from FromSoftware and its expansion The Shadow of the World Tree will be available in a Tarnished Edition (or Sans-Éclat in the language of Molière).
We were able to see what Elden Ring is made of on the Nintendo Switch 2 and what performance to expect on the future console. The title therefore takes advantage of the console's more robust technical sheet to display the Entre-Terre on the hybrid machine, but visibly at only 30 FPS, at least in portable mode. It is also a complete version, therefore also including the DLC The Shadow of the World Tree. The multiplayer component of the game will of course be there, especially to exploit the GameChat functionality, introduced with the new "C" button on the Joy-Con. It remains to be seen see if cross-platforms will be too.
In any case, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
