Free subscribers, you can migrate to the Freebox Pop S, but there is bad news

Migrations to the recent Freebox Pop S are open. Perfect for those looking for an affordable 100% Internet offer, it nevertheless favors new customers to the detriment of existing subscribers. Here's why.

Free subscribers, you can migrate to the Freebox Pop S, but there is bad news

Fiber optics and Wi-Fi 7 at a low price. This is essentially what the new Freebox Pop S, unveiled by the operator at the beginning of April, offers. To display an attractive price, you have to make concessions. Here you will therefore be entitled to: a dual-play offer, that is, with Internet, landline phone, but no television. Many will find it to their advantage at a time when streaming platforms offer almost infinite content.

It's quite simple: at €24.99 per month without commitment and without a price increase after one year, it's the perfect offer for those who don't want TV channels. And after a few days of exclusivity for new customers, existing Free subscribers can now request migration to the Freebox Pop S if they meet the conditions. There are, however, two important things to note. The first is that eligibility in question is not clearly defined. The second is the price of the operation.

The migration to the Freebox Pop S is open to existing subscribers, with one caveat

Those who have visited their customer area have seen the unpleasant surprise: the subscription to the Freebox Pop S is 29.99 euros per month instead of 24.99 euros for new subscribers. However, there is no difference to justify the price difference. And since bad news never comes alone, you also have to pay the migration fee of 49 euros, deducted from the first bill after receiving the equipment.

For the moment, we know that Freebox Revolution Light, Mini 4K and Delta S subscribers can migrate. But is it really worth it? With the Revolution Light, which will certainly be 15 years old, you pay 29.99 euros per month with TV, which is the same as the Pop S without any channels. Same with the Mini 4K at €34.99 per month. Some will prefer to keep the TV rather than save €60 per year. It's up to you.
