Samsung may limit the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge to two countries to begin with: South Korea and China would be the first markets targeted by the manufacturer for its ultra-thin smartphone. At least, that's what says Ice Universe, a leaker who generally has good sources. This doesn't mean the device won't be released anywhere else, but the launch in Europe and the United States could take longer than expected (especially in the US where the situation is even more complicated with customs tariffs).
Longer wait than expected for the Galaxy S25 Edge
The leaker also indicates that marketing would begin in May, which is consistent with previous rumors that are even more specific: we are talking about May 13. The smartphone was stealthily presented in January during the Galaxy S25 Unboxed event, then unveiled to the general public during MWC the following month.
An early launch on the domestic market, and especially in China, can be explained by the fact that sales volumes there are higher than anywhere else, given the number of potential customers. It's therefore not surprising that Samsung is prioritizing the Chinese market, especially since producing such a thin smartphone must not be obvious.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.84mm thick and weighs 162 grams. A featherweight, but it will still be in the heavyweight category with 12GB of RAM, 256 to 512GB of storage, and (probably) a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
