Gmail will help you see things more clearly, and above all, clean up your inbox. Google is discreetly rolling out a section dedicated to newsletter subscriptions. The goal? To allow you to quickly unsubscribe from these messages that generally end up in... the trash.
A section to "manage your subscriptions in Gmail"
This new feature, which is being rolled out and should be done gradually, should allow you to efficiently manage the emails you have subscribed to.
As 9to5Google reports, the first users to benefit from this function are, a priori, those using the Gmail application for Android. However, it seems that Google has planned to deploy this system to on a larger scale, on Desktop and on the iOS app, according to the support page.
While Gmail already made it easy to unsubscribe using a link highlighted at the top of each message, the messaging service now wants to make this task even simpler. To achieve this, Google is adding a Manage Subscriptions section to the inbox sidebar menu, which groups together all the messages you've subscribed to. This will allow you to quickly view each sender and the number of messages they've sent you, but more importantly, choose to quickly unsubscribe from any of them. Google has integrated a dedicated button that you can simply click to unsubscribe without having to open each message individually.
