Marvel's Spider-Man 2: A surprise update is available, what's new?

After a very warm reception on PS5, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has hit a wall with its PC port. But this setback shouldn't discourage fans. The teams at Nixxes Software, who worked with Insomniac Games to transpose the adventure of Peter Parker and Miles Morales to this new ecosystem, continue to work on fixes. A new patch has just been released, let's see what it brings.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 cleans its web again on PC

After the technical failure of the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC, the challenge for Nixxes Software is really to optimize the performance of the title. Consequently, several updates have already been released since January 30th to correct the situation. Little by little, the title is therefore beginning to stabilize to offer the experience that players deserve.

It was last Thursday, April 10th, that Nixxes announced on Steam the deployment of patch 8 for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. This new patch is not very extensive, nevertheless it comes to resolve major problems. Once again, the studio focused on the stability of the game and the resolution of bugs. In particular, it had in its sights everything related to enabling raytracing.

The day when Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was the subject of all the mockery on the internet. It must be said that the bugs on PC were massive... But, Nixxes is raising the bar a little more with patch 8:

  • Improved performance in wooded areas.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when exiting the game during vehicle chases.
  • Fixed a bug where AMD users could see rainbow pixelated artifacts with ray tracing enabled.
  • Fixed a bug that blurred character hair.
  • Fixed character hair flickering when using ray reconstruction.
  • Fixed a bug that made the Greenwich Mural Photo Op invisible when the detail level was set to "low". Very High.”
  • The transition between the wet and dry parts of Spider-Man’s suit is no longer pixelated.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the mouse to become unresponsive after canceling the character switch popup.
  • Various UI bug fixes. Various stability improvements.
