The film adaptation, which was released on April 2, 2025, follows the same path but at its level.

Minecraft 2 the movie already in the boxes?

At the time of this article's publication, the live-action feature film starring Jack Black, Jason Momoa, and Emma Myers from the Netflix series Wednesday has grossed more than $336 million at the international box office. It has already beaten another film adapted from a video game that was a hit, Five Nights at Freddy's.

So, is a Minecraft the Movie sequel already in the works? It's definitely on track, according to a statement from director Jared Hess to Deadline, but also regarding the ending of the first installment. "It would be really cool [to make a sequel]. We had a lot of fun making this movie, and the game world is so vast, and there's so much we didn't explore the way we wanted to. I would have a blast making the sequel, and it seems like people are already talking about it, so I'm super excited." It will be so great to dive back into this world. The fans are having so much fun." At the end of the Minecraft movie, a very important character, who drove fans crazy, is teased... Between the filmmaker's statement and this passage, everything suggests that Warner will indeed approve a sequel.
