Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: this smartphone at less than € 400 has (almost) all of a big

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: this smartphone at less than € 400 has (almost) all of a big

After the Google Pixel 9a, the mid-range smartphone market welcomes a new, ambitious contender. Motorola is taking advantage of this relatively quiet period to unveil its Edge 60 Fusion, a model that enriches the Sino-American manufacturer's Edge range. The Lenovo subsidiary adopts the aesthetic codes of previous models and takes advantage of the partnership with Pantone to offer three colors: Pantone Slipstream (gray), Pantone Amazonite (turquoise), and Pantone Zephyr (pink).

Motorola remains faithful to its sleek design with a camera block integrated into the rest of the case, offering an elegant approach. The smartphone measures 161 x 73 x 7.95 mm and weighs 178 g, and is MIL-STD 810SH military certified. It is also IP68 and IP69 certified, and adds Gorilla Glass 7i for "double the drop resistance." At the front, the Edge 60 Fusion asserts itself as the world's first smartphone to offer a four-sided curved screen.

The brand uses a 6.67-inch pOLED panel, displaying in Super HD (2712 x 1220 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen benefits from a HDR10+ certification and Pantone Validated colors, as well as a brightness of up to 4500 nits in HDR. It should remain perfectly readable, even in direct sunlight.

"Discreet" intelligence in a smartphone for less than 400 euros

Under the hood, the smartphone has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip engraved in 4 nm, combined with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. This mid-range configuration should allow it to run "discreet artificial intelligence", namely Moto AI. The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is the first model from the brand to integrate the AI tool suite right out of the box. The manufacturer is banking on backward integration, with the ability to call upon features such as:

  • Take notes: Automatically records, transcribes, and summarizes your conversations.
  • Debrief me: Provides a personalized summary of notifications received while you were away.
  • Memorize: Instantly captures and saves a visual, text, or object noticed.
  • Magic Canvas: Creates an image from an idea or emotion described in a few words.

"AI doesn't replace anything, it amplifies interactions, streamlines the experience, and frees up attention," Motorola France tells us. The device runs on Android 15 upon release with the Hello UX interface and Smart Connect, not to mention the security features of Moto Secure and ThinkShield for mobile. Motorola guarantees three OS updates and six years of security patches.

A duo of sensors on the back

On the photo side, the Edge 60 Fusion offers a dual rear camera composed of a stabilized 50 MP Sony LYT-700C main sensor (f/1.8) and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.2) with a 3 cm macro view. For selfies, a 32 MP front sensor capable of recording in 4K completes the photo section. Like its main competitors, Motorola relies on artificial intelligence to optimize the quality of photos thanks to various features such as improved stabilization (Adaptive Stabilization) and automatic settings adapted to the shooting conditions (Photo Enhancement Engine, Action Shot).

The technical sheet mentions the presence of a 5200 mAh battery and the device promises a comfortable autonomy to last more than a day of intensive use. The Edge 60 Fusion supports 68W TurboPower charging to recover “a day of battery life” (actually 12 hours) in 8 minutes.
