Nintendo Switch Online: a very big ultra -awaited new confirmed

The highly anticipated Switch 2 is an opportunity for the Japanese giant to make huge changes to its entire ecosystem. Taking advantage of the giant Nintendo Direct dedicated to its future console, Big N has thus made official what has been expected for a while: a Nintendo Switch Online with a makeover, and what's more, with a catalog that will grow enormously in the future.

Nintendo Switch Online releases major games in preparation for the arrival of the Switch 2

As a reminder, Nintendo Switch Online opened at the end of last year to a Playtest program aimed at improving many aspects of its ecosystem. While all the spotlight was on the Switch 2 this afternoon, Big N didn't miss the opportunity to also reveal what awaits subscribers for the rest of the program. We now have official confirmation: the GameCube will finally soon be adding its catalog of cult games to the service.

It joins the NES, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and Nintendo 64 currently available. Note, however, that like the N64, the GameCube will only be available to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, for 50 euros per year. To mark the occasion, the announcement of the arrival of the famous console released in 2001 is accompanied by that of the first titles from this beautiful era to arrive on the service.

In this case, we have the right to start with: The Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, F-ZERO GX, which will arrive on Nintendo Switch Online on the day of the Nintendo Switch 2 release, namely June 5, 2025. Better still, the GameCube controller is also taking the opportunity to make its big comeback, but there still only for subscribers to the service, also on the release day of Nintendo Switch 2.
