NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti: Specs leaked, a truly more powerful graphics card?

The latest news is that the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 are expected to arrive in mid-April. Following a leak of their shipping slips, a complete leak of the Ti model's specs and benchmarks has now surfaced. How does it compare to the RTX 4060 Ti? Should we still expect, as with its big sisters, differences that are ultimately not very obvious compared to their previous-generation equivalents, with the exception of DLSS 4 support? Let's take a closer look.

NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti specs put to the test

NVIDIA will soon be expanding its RTX 50XX graphics card lineup with the latest additions, the RTX 5060 Ti and 5060. These should offer a more affordable performance-to-price ratio than the higher-end models, at least if you want to build a configuration to comfortably play in 1080p. These two new graphics cards should, a priori, have a recommended price of between $399 and $499 respectively for the Ti, and $299 for the standard one. But how does the 5060 Ti compare to the 4060 Ti, currently available between 400 and 700 euros depending on the manufacturer?

Thanks to leaks of benchmarks of the beast on OpenCL and Vulkan, and therefore its specs, we have a first element of response. First of all, the RTX 5060 Ti would indeed display 4608 CUDA cores, 16 GB GDDR7 RAM, with a maximum clock frequency of 2,647 MHz. As a reminder, the RTX 4060 Ti has on its side 4352 CUDA cores, 8GB of GGDR6 memory, and a maximum clock frequency of 2310 MHz. According to the two benchmarks below, the 5060 Ti would therefore display a performance gain of around 14% compared to its previous-generation counterpart.

Note that the benchmarks only take into account the purely hardware capabilities of the RTX 5060 Ti, and therefore omit the additional performance gains enabled by DLSS 4, which is unfortunately exclusive to the RTX 50XX. However, do such values allow the card to display an interesting performance/price ratio? We'll have to wait and see what the true price will be when it arrives in the next few days. It's also worth considering that NVIDIA's partner manufacturers often tend to have prices that are significantly higher than those recommended by the Green Team.
