Path of Exile 2: Huge update is a disaster, studio responds to player anger

When it was released in early access on December 6th, Path of Exile 2 was generally received with triumph, with a shower of very positive reviews, and above all, a record number of players connected simultaneously. But the launch of the huge update called Dawn of the Hunt had the exact opposite effect. Players have in fact addressed sharp criticism of the changes brought by the latter. As usual, the Grinding Gear Games studio reacted quickly to try to reassure its world. Let's take a closer look.

Path of Exile 2 players angry, studio tries to dispel their doubts

The major Dawn of the Hunt update introduced many new features to Path of Exile 2, such as the Hunter class, five Ascendancy classes, a host of support gems and new items to enhance build diversity, and many new mechanics during progression and the endgame. It also brought many adjustments that greatly displeased players who had been there since the game's launch in early access. The community The Exiles are now criticizing the title for having become far too slow, with enemies having far too many health points, especially bosses. Finally, many previously powerful builds, which took a considerable amount of time to develop, are now almost obsolete.

Grinding Gear Games has therefore published a long blog post on the official website of Path of Exile 2 to announce that adjustments are being rolled out following the numerous negative feedback from players. Among the most notable is that the Huntress should no longer rely as much on her unique Parry mechanic to be effective, as many players find it unsatisfying to use. Similarly, minion-centric classes should also regain some of their lost power following the last update. The studio also intends to significantly reduce enemy health points, to improve the overall pace of the game. This will also involve smaller and more tedious areas to explore.

Finally, Grinding Gear Games is working on improving the performance of Path of Exile 2, particularly regarding its instability due to untimely crashes and disconnections. Some of these changes are already being rolled out, and others will come later. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to reassure players or not.
