Pokemon Scarlet & Purple will celebrate their third anniversary in December, and Legends ZA will be released this year to take us back to the city of Illumis. Behind the scenes, Game Freak is already working on the 10th generation of its flagship video game franchise, codenamed Gaia. A recent and significant leak has literally added fuel to the fire of rumors about it. Let's ride the wave to see what it's all about.
A leak that surfs on the 10th generation of Pokemon to come
With the Nintendo Switch 2 finally announced and dated, Pokemon is preparing to move on to its 10th generation soon. This while Scarlet & Purple will be entitled to an improved edition (but this time free) on the new Nintendo console, and that Legends ZA will arrive this year on it and its illustrious big sister. The prolific leaker Centro LEAKS, to whom we owe many generally accurate revelations around the famous pocket monster franchise, returns with a new leak around this famous 10th generation.
This one reveals to us that the next game marking a new generation of Pokemon, codenamed Gaia, should arrive next year. Centro LEAKS claims that the next title will take us to a new region: the Cyclades. This region would be inspired by Greece, and would therefore feature several islands of varying sizes, surrounded by a sea. We should therefore be treated to a true odyssey involving numerous voyages on the waters. This revelation seems to divide users who reacted to the Centro LEAKS publication. Some appreciate the change, while others deplore the overly aquatic orientation that the Cyclades implies.
Another important piece of information surrounding the potentially soon-coming 10th generation of Pokemon: it would arrive next year, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. This could be an opportunity for Game Freak to further beef up its game by taking advantage of the more robust hardware of the new Big N console. But its big sister would therefore risk being left behind. In the absence of confirmation from Nintendo or Game Freak, however, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt while waiting for official information about the 10th generation of Pokemon to come sooner or later.
