Pokemon Scarlet and Purple - Destined Rivalries: Discover exclusive new cards

The Pokemon franchise's popularity remains strong. Beyond the latest video game on Nintendo Switch, the trading card game has recently been given a nice spotlight with Pokemon Pocket on mobile. But even if the pleasure of opening virtual boosters is palpable, nothing beats opening them for real. Luckily, a new expansion is joining the famous TCG, entitled "Pokemon Scarlet and Purple: Destined Rivalries" and we have the honor of unveiling two new cards exclusively on Gameblog!

The Pokemon TCG is back with a great expansion

Your card collection will soon be able to expand! The Pokémon Company is about to release a new expansion called "Pokemon Scarlet and Purple: Destined Rivalries" (SV10). Team Rocket will be in the spotlight in this new batch of collectible cards. It will be up to you to choose your side. Forge your team around heroes such as Lute and Cynthia or join the most famous criminal organization in the Pokemon world.

But today, it's young Lute who is in the spotlight because exclusively on Gameblog we are revealing two new cards from the Destined Rivalries expansion: a Supporter card "Lute's Adventure" and a cute "Lute's Pichu" card, a Pokemon that appeared in the 2nd generation of Pokemon. The full art "Lute's Adventure" will allow you to consolidate your hand while the "Lute's Pichu" will be there to give you the opportunity to draw while doing some damage in the process.

These two cards won't be the only new additions, of course. The Pokémon Company has already given us the names of several upcoming duos, such as Cynthia and Garchomp-ex, Ho-Oh-ex, Pepper and Dogrino-ex. If you prefer to switch allegiances, join Team Rocket's Pokémon, such as Mewtwo-ex, under Giovanni's control! In total, 140 new cards will be available at all partner retailers starting May 30, 2025:

  • 83 new Team Rocket cards.
  • 17 Pokémon-EX, including 10 Trainer Pokémon-EX.
  • 23 “Rare Art” Pokémon.
  • 11 “Special Rare Art” Pokémon.
  • 6 “Hyper Rare” gold-textured cards.

The Pokemon Company will give you the opportunity to discover the Pokemon Scarlet and Purple — Destiny Rivalries expansion a little before its official release. First, it will be offered for testing during the Prerelease Tournaments starting May 17, 2025. Find the list of partner stores on the official website.

In addition, the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game will welcome the expansion a day early! Whether you play on Android, iOS, or Mac, you'll be able to add the new cards to your collection starting May 29, 2025.
