The Pokémon franchise has always been aimed at younger audiences. From its beginnings in the 90s to today, Pokémon has been aimed at little blond heads rather than a more informed audience. And yet, those who bought the games more than 20 years ago still love the franchise, but their sensibilities and tastes have changed. Pokémon could easily offer us an opus intended for older players, with different themes, as these horrific Bulbasaur creations remind us.

Pokémon could easily move away from its childish image and move towards more adult themes. The idea is gaining traction, with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, an independent horror film, taking advantage of that Winnie the Pooh falls into the public domain to divert his angelic image into a true serial killer. $100,000 budget for a box office result exceeding $5 million, we can say that the film is an overwhelming success.
In 2019, Adi Shankar, at who we owe the animated series Castlevania, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix or even Devil May Cry, and a potential animated series Assassin's Creed, offered us a parody of Pokémon in which the death of Ash's Pikachu was at the origin of a revolution. A gory but telling work, a stance that hits the mark by addressing mature subjects.
Obviously, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will probably never stray far from their preferred audience, namely children. However, dreaming has never hurt anyone. And recently on Reddit, an artist named Oddarette seduced Pokémon fans with her horrific creations, themed Bulbasaur.Teeth, brain, eye, blood, flesh, heart, Bulbasaur based on parts of the human body, for a simply brilliant result.
