What if Mickey was about to leave the Nintendo Switch and arrive on PS5? At least that's what a recent discovery suggests. Disney Illusion Island, the colorful platform game from Disney and Dlala Studios, could well be on its way to Sony's console. And frankly, we wouldn't say no to a little Disney magic on PS5.
A leak that doesn't go unnoticed for the PS5
It's the site PSDeals.net that has put its finger on a very telling clue: a page of the game is already present in the PlayStation Store servers. Not yet publicly visible, but definitely online. A release would even be planned for May 30, 2025, if we are to believe the data identified. For the moment, only the PS5 seems to be concerned. No trace of a PS4 version, which suggests that the game would remain exclusive to the new generation.
Released in July 2023 on Nintendo Switch, Disney Illusion Island had made a strong impression. This 2D platformer, playable solo or in cooperation, offered a charming adventure with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. Critics and players had praised its graphic style inspired by modern cartoons, its gameplay fluid and its infectious good humor.
An arrival that makes sense
With few cooperative platform games on PS5, Disney Illusion Island would have its place in the catalog. Its colorful and accessible universe could appeal to a wide audience, both families and fans of old-school games. And then, seeing Mickey and his gang in a neat cartoon atmosphere was always a pleasure. For now, Disney and Sony haven't confirmed anything. But if the leak is true, an announcement should be coming soon. In the meantime, fans can already start dreaming of a new magical adventure on their console.
