Artificial intelligence is increasingly finding its way into our daily lives. Samsung is working on a tool capable of summarizing any video in a few seconds. A promising feature that you can already try.
Samsung has just restarted the deployment of One UI 7, after several weeks of interruption due to critical bugs. While the update update finally arrives on many Galaxy models, the brand is already preparing for the future with One UI 8. Artificial intelligence is gradually transforming the way we interact with our devices. Summarizing texts, analyzing images or simplifying searches is becoming more and more common thanks to these new technologies.
According to our colleagues at Sammy Guru, Samsung is developing an intelligent video summary system integrated into its Samsung Internet browser. The feature would be able to quickly summarize any sequence by analyzing the sound, images, and subtitles. Unlike traditional summaries that are limited to the visible text on a web page, this tool uses a multimodal AI model to extract the key points. The feature is reportedly compatible with YouTube and many other sites.
AI video summarization is coming with One UI 8, and it's already possible to test it
This new tool works directly on the device, without going through the cloud. This guarantees better execution speed and more privacy. Samsung is particularly targeting Galaxy S25 users, who benefit from optimized performance to process these summaries locally. According to initial tests, the system is able to produce accurate summaries, useful for quickly locating key information without having to watch the entire video.
It is already possible to try this hidden feature on some Samsung devices. To do this, you must:
Open the Samsung Internet application
- Enter “internet://debug” in the address bar
- Access the “Debug settings“
- Enable the “Enable Video Summarize“ option
Once enabled, the tool offers a smart summary when playing a video. This option is available on recent Galaxy models running One UI 6 or later, such as the Galaxy S23, S24, Z Fold 5 or Z Flip 5, provided you are using the beta version of Samsung Internet. Although experimental, this feature does not pose any risk to the device, but may still lack stability or compatibility depending on the content.
