If you love the TV series Severance, available on Apple TV+, here is a series of never-before-seen images shared on Reddit by one of its members who is also a fan. He decided to reinvent this series by propelling it to 1979, adapting the visual style that corresponds to this era. We thus find our favorite characters with retro costumes and hairstyles as we could see them. The result is fun and might even appeal to nostalgic fans who love series from this era of television.
Severance: a series that appeals to a wide audience
The science fiction series created by Dan Erickson, Severance, was launched in 2022 on the Apple TV+ SVOD platform. The story takes place at Lumon Industries, where Mark Scout and his colleagues live a double life thanks to technology that allows them to divide their minds into work and personal life. As soon as they leave their company, they can no longer remember what happened there and vice versa. If you haven't seen it yet, it's definitely worth a look.
Regarding the series of images by Reddit member 12washingbeard, it's really fun because it gives the characters a vintage look. This member, who also loves this series, decided to reimagine the series as if it took place in 1979. We thus find the different characters like Mark, Helly, Mrs Cobel, Dylan or even Irving with outfits that have gone out of fashion. To achieve this result, 12washingbeard used a generative artificial intelligence like Midjourney. So he started by writing detailed prompts and then submitting them to create completely new images.
1/ Irving Bailiff
2/ Mrs. Casey
3/ Mark Scout
4/ Dylan George
5/ Mr Milchick
6/ Helly Rigby
7/ Graner
8/ Mme Cobel
Even if the images you have just discovered are very realistic, it should still be noted that There are no future plans to transport the characters to this era. Nor will it be a special episode or season. They are simply the fruit of the overflowing imagination of a fan who masters AI to make it do what he wants, as we saw previously with the images of Severance in the 70s version.
And if you don't know what to watch after Severance, here is another series that should please you.
