How do you calculate a superhero's strength? Which medium serves as the reference in this matter: cinema or comics? If in the MCU, Tom Holland's Spider-Man has a power inversely proportional to his size, in the pages of the comics, Marvel has officially revealed the maximum weight the young man can lift - and it's much less.

When it comes to brute strength, Spider-Man is not the champion of the Marvel stable. These superheroes there are much tougher, but that doesn't stop Spider-Man from having some power under his hood. Although he's rather slim, Peter Parker is nonetheless solid, as proven by the release of The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz, John Romita Jr, Scott Hanna, Marte Gracia, and Mario Menyz), in which the House of Ideas lifts the veil on his power. At the end of an epic chase between Rhino and the friendly neighborhood spider, we finally learn what maximum load the vigilante can lift.

Grabbing a truck to smash it on his enemy's head, he exclaims:

This is going to hurt. This is the maximum of my vehicle-throwing routine.

A rather light-looking truck would therefore be the maximum Spider-Man could lift, if this statement is to be believed.

According to our colleagues at Screen Rant, this type of truck weighs around 10,000 pounds, or just under 5 tons. But be careful, distinguish between lifting a vehicle (or anything else) with the strength of one's arms alone and holding something up with the strength of one's spider web, for example. And even within Marvel publications, the information contradicts itself, since in The Amazing Spider-Man #365 (by David Michelinie and Mark Bagley, see above), Peter Parker lifts Penn Station, boasting that even Thor would have trouble achieving this feat...

And you, what do you think of Spider-Man's strength? How heavy would you estimate it to be?
