This is one of the events not to be missed for anyone who loves George Lucas's imagination. This April, Disney and Lucasfilm will celebrate the galaxy far, far away with the now unmissable Star Wars Celebration. From April 18th to 20th, Tokyo will beat to the rhythm of John Williams' orchestral music and will be adorned with the colors of the light and dark sides of the Force.
The event will not only be an opportunity for fans to celebrate the saga, through cosplay or animation, Lucasfilm often takes the opportunity to give news of its most anticipated projects. This was the case in 2023 with Star Wars Celebration Europe, when Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the upcoming release of three films, each dedicated to Rey Skywalker, Mando, and Baby Yoda, and the birth of the Jedi Order. The 2025 edition promises to be just as busy.
In cinema, where the future is uncertain, on the small screen, where the saga is shrinking, or even in video games, George Lucas's imagination should have more than one opportunity to surprise us. Which panels should we keep a close eye on? Who are the notable absentees? We take a look at the Star Wars Celebration and how not to miss anything.
The Mandalorian & Grogu — Friday morning
This will undoubtedly be the event of the weekend. It must be said that, until now, Disney and Lucasfilm have been rather stingy with details. Two years after its official announcement, at the Star Wars Celebration in London, The Mandalorian & Grogu is expected to appear in person this Friday, April 18. Visitors can head to the Celebration Stage at 10 a.m. (local time) to watch a conversation between Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. The event's website promises a few surprise appearances, but doesn't reveal any details about the actors and actresses invited to speak to the audience.
It seems unlikely that Pedro Pascal will be there, as he already has a lot on his plate with the filming of Doomsday and the promotion of The Last of Us season 2. To follow the event live, you'll still have to be on the lookout, as the panel will take place at 3 a.m. in France. It will last an hour and promises to provide an overview of the project and its challenges.
Lucasfilm Publishing — Friday morning
For bookworms, Lucasfilm Publishing won't forget bookworms with a panel dedicated to some of its most beloved sagas. Authors Adam Christopher, Tessa Gratton, and Marc Guggenheim will be on stage, as will CB Cebulski, known for his work on Marvel Fairy Tales. But the bulk of the show should be linked to the grand finale of The High Republic, a series of novels launched in 2021.
Andor: A Star Wars Story — Saturday morning
While the wait is almost over, Disney+ couldn't resist offering a final taste of Andor's finale. This Saturday, on the Celebration Stage, creator Tony Gilroy and actor and producer Diego Luna will discuss the challenges of this final season. Announcements should be minimal, but Lucasfilm promises to show unseen footage. The meeting is set for 3 a.m. in France.
Ahsoka – Saturday morning
Season 2 of Ashoka has been promised since the beginning of 2024, without Disney specifying its schedule. The latest news is that filming has started (in March) and we can hope that the panel organized this Saturday will be an opportunity for Disney+ to deliver some unseen footage. Dave Filoni will be on stage to lead the dance, and mainly discuss the first season in the company of some guests. So, see you at 6 a.m. this Saturday, April 19th.
Respawn Announces a New Game — Saturday Morning
The studio behind Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor is returning to the Star Wars universe with an enigmatic game. On the website, the organizers simply promise a glimpse of a new tactics game. Called Zero Company, it's extremely mysterious. The date is set for Saturday, April 19th at 9:30 a.m. in France.
On the other hand, there's no news of Eclipse, developed by Quantic Dreams and widely promoted as a revolution for the video game industry. We'll have to be patient. We were also hoping for information regarding the upcoming films centered on Rey and the first Jedi.
In any case, check back this Friday to find out what surprises await fans of the galaxy far, far away. Please note that the editorial team will be on site and that it will be possible to follow important events live on the site.
