With the recent release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, fans of the Bethesda-developed video game franchise, especially those who roamed the length and breadth of Cyrodil in 2006, were in for a treat. However, the studio behind this cult saga of the video game genre has thought of fans of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and has prepared for them a little gift.
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered: Bethesda is in a generous mood
Since the release of the remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion a few days ago, the game has been the subject of much discussion. With a complete overhaul of the graphics, textures and lighting, all under Unreal Engine 5, the fourth installment of the saga The Elder Scrolls is getting a magnificent facelift. We also find a readjustment of the gameplay which allows for handling more in line with current standards of 2025, without distorting the basic game. All this work started by Bethesda and Virtuos Paris in 2021 gives us a formidable RPG and a new dive into the wild lands of Cyrodil and the terrible gates of Oblivion.
While some fans of the fantasy video game saga, and in particular those of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, may have thought that Bethesda had forgotten them during the development of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, this is not the case. Certainly, this remaster is above all a way of introducing the younger generation this iconic title from the 2000s and to please fans of this opus, but it also takes the time to look at parts of Tamriel that have been later developed in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
When we walk to the north of the Cyrodil map and on the borders with the province of Skyrim, we can see a mountain well known to players of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: the Throat of the World. This mountain shelters at its summit the legendary dragon Paarthurnax and the monastery where the Greybeards live. Here we have a wonderful tribute to the fifth installment in the saga and a nice little gift for fans of the snowy mountains of Skyrim.
Tell us if you noticed this detail while playing this remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or if you noticed others and don't miss out on discovering the gameplay elements we might have in The Elder Scrolls VI.
