The Last of Us: Season 2 will finally reveal the past of this mysterious character

The Last of Us: Season 2 will finally reveal the past of this mysterious character

The truth about this character will soon come out

After two long years of waiting, the series The Last of Us has just made its grand return to HBO and Max, much to the delight of fans. Five years have passed since Joel saved Ellie from the Fireflies, who wanted to extract her brain in order to develop a vaccine against the Cordyceps that ravaged the world. In Jackson, the relationship between the two characters is particularly strained. But the end of episode 2 changed their relationship forever: Joel meets a brutal and tragic end at the hands of Abby, the daughter of the Fireflies' doctor, who seeks revenge on Ellie's adoptive father. A traumatic event that sparked numerous reactions on social media.

Like The Last of Us Part II, the five remaining episodes of season 2 of the HBO series will be dedicated to telling the first part of Ellie's vengeful and bloody quest. Accompanied by Dina, the young woman will travel to Seattle to hunt down Abby and her WLF comrades who stole Joel's life. The series will also adopt Abby's point of view, thus imitating the Naughty Dog video game. The character played by American actress Kaitlyn Dever is among the most prominent members of the WLF, a militarized faction that was built in opposition to FEDRA and is engaged in a territorial war against the Seraphites. The group is led by the charismatic Isaac Dixon, played by the excellent actor Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman).

While an artifact located near a corpse in the downtown Seattle courthouse tells us that Isaac Dixon is accused of the murder of a FEDRA agent, acts of terrorism, and acts of rebellion, his past remains very mysterious. However, an official teaser for season 2 of The Last of Us broadcast in Brazil tells us that the character's past may be revealed in future episodes. Indeed, the video opens with Isaac Dixon dressed in the FEDRA regulation uniform; getting out of a truck, he faces a group of survivors. Will the character be entitled to a special episode like the survivalist Bill before him, in episode 3 of season 1? In any case, that's what we have the right to think, following the release of this teaser.

Regardless, it's a wise choice to reveal Issac Dixon's past; in addition to humanizing the character—who will be led to order and commit ruthless acts himself—these flashbacks will also highlight Jeffrey Wright's great talent while deepening the universe of The Last of Us. FEDRA had occupied a very important place in the first episode of season 1, following Joel and Tess at length in the Boston military zone. By recounting the crimes committed by the Federal Disaster Reponse Agency, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin seize the opportunity to tell the behind-the-scenes stories of the creation of resistance groups such as the WLF and the Fireflies.
