OnePlus is one of those manufacturers that likes to tease its fans before the official presentation of a product. For their OnePlus 13T, which will be fully presented on April 24, 2024, the brand has already confirmed some of the most interesting elements of the device.
Various rumors already pointed to a smartphone that is both compact and durable, which does not always go hand in hand. Often, the smaller a smartphone is, the more its battery takes a hit, which is logical.
Except that with the development of carbon silicon batteries, the idea of a phone with a good capacity and that does not protrude from the pocket is more and more possible, which explains why various manufacturers are returning to the compact format in 2025.
This should therefore be the case for OnePlus with its 13T. The brand has confirmed several elements that seem to confirm this in various publications on Weibo, the Chinese social network.
Light and potentially very autonomous
The OnePlus 13T will therefore weigh 185g. The further a smartphone moves away from 200g, the lighter you can consider it. Under 180g, we can talk about a featherweight. Despite this, the smartphone will integrate a 6260mAh battery. An impressive capacity, well above the 5000mAh still used in many high-end smartphones.
However, let's be clear: battery capacity isn't everything. You'll need to check whether the smartphone combines it with good optimization. For reference, the OnePlus 13 has one of the best scores in 01lab in terms of battery life, with a measurement of 22h 10 minutes to go from 100% to 5% in continuous use. It seems the brand has mastered the subject.
For hardcore gamers, the brand has also confirmed the presence of bypass charging. This allows you to power the system directly when you plug in the charger without using the battery when playing. Since video games tend to cause the device to heat up more, using bypass charging prevents damage to it at these times. This also increases gaming comfort, as you avoid having a device that gets too hot in your hands.
What remains to be confirmed about the OnePlus 13T
As we mentioned, the OnePlus 13T will be lightweight. But will it be compact? Previous rumors have suggested a smartphone with a diagonal of 6.3 inches, which by 2025 standards can be described as a compact smartphone.
Also expected is a Snapdragon 8 Elite, the most powerful chip on the market. The presence of bypass charging suggests that this could be the case.
In addition, the device should have two rear cameras, with a little surprise in passing: a wide-angle and a telephoto lens. The smartphone would therefore do without an ultra-wide-angle. A choice that is still not very widespread, but which exists on the market. The Xiaomi MIX Flip, for example, did the same.
