Is Nintendo having money problems? Or is the company tired of playing the "nice guy" of affordable consoles and games? Whatever the reason, it's clear that anyone eyeing the upcoming Switch 2 is going to have to break the bank. Anything goes to make a dent in gamers' wallets. The console's price is already much higher than expected, and the price of games follows, for example Mario Kart World Tour at 70 euros in digital format, 80 euros in physical format. Even the machine's demonstration title is chargeable.

From there, we are not surprised to see the appearance of "Switch 2 Edition" games, barely improved re-editions of Switch 1 games that do not work on the latter. But it's not over. Take The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for example, released in 2017. Its Switch 2 version is sold for 80 euros. For the price, and given its 8 years of existence, we naturally expect the cartridge to contain the released DLC, right? You've already guessed the answer.

The answer comes from the My Nintendo Store team. No rumors or hypotheses, it's official: “As of today, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild does not include the Expansion Pass. This remains additional content available separately, as it was for the original Nintendo Switch version.

Let's do the math: 80 euros for the physical version of the game, plus 20 euros for the Expansion Pass. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition costs 100 euros for anyone who wants the full game. Experts thought that GTA 6 would be the first game to sell for 100 euros upon its release. Nintendo, admittedly with DLC, cut them the grass under the feet.
