We're still waiting for news of the next Tomb Raider by Crystal Dynamics, so in the meantime, we're keeping ourselves busy with Lara's first adventures, fully remastered. These effective compilations allow us to go back many years, to the 90s and 2000s. The time when Lara was a seasoned woman who wasn't afraid of anything, not hesitating to get into trouble during her travels to the four corners of the world. If you're one of her fans, then this lovely collector's item from Dark Horse might be just what you're looking for.
A beautiful statuette for the first Tomb Raider, the return of classic Lara!
The Lara Croft from the first Tomb Raider games has absolutely nothing to do with the new adventurer born from the 2013 reboot. Whether in writing, personality, or physique, the two women are very different. Here, the Dark Horse collector's edition puts the so-called "Classic" Lara in the spotlight. The one we find in particular in the first Tomb Raider. She is also the one who inspired the design of this PVC statuette. The adventurer is depicted in action, eluding traps by leaning on the carcass of an ancient warrior in what appears to be an ancient Egyptian tomb. In her other hand, she holds a piece of the Scion, the Atlantean artifact central to the plot of the first Tomb Raider.
The statuette is 16.5 cm high, 17.8 cm wide, and 15.2 cm deep. A beautiful, all-PVC frozen piece, which also comes with interchangeable parts like flame jets to replace the spears in the background or a free arm for Lara instead of having her hold the artifact. Everything is back in stock on Amazon and Rakuten, notably for less than 100 euros. A pretty Tomb Raider figurine that could well find its place in your collection.
