As we know, Warner Bros. Games is currently developing a whole series of games. In addition to Hogwarts Legacy 2, a new title had already leaked. And that's not all: another Batman Arkham game is also reportedly in the works. In short, the American company seems determined to make a big splash. And today, yet another piece of news has been added to this lineage.
Warner has still more surprises for us
Another project for a brand new franchise is on the way. It was via the LinkedIn profile of Brandon Maraia, currently Game Design Lead at Warner Bros. Games, that we learned of the existence of this project. In his job description, he specifies that he is responsible for the overall design of a game based on a new intellectual property, with a scheduled launch for next year.
According to the information shared, this new title has been in development since May 2023 and involves elements of character customization, storytelling, quests and first user experience. All of these elements suggest a story-driven game, with a strong single-player, or even RPG, component.
For now, Warner Bros. Games has not yet officially communicated on this project. No visuals, no title, and no clues about the universe or gameplay. But this kind of information, coming from a LinkedIn post from a key executive, leaves little doubt about the reality of development.
Any news soon?
We can assume that this new game could be presented later this year, perhaps at the Summer Game Fest, where Warner has already spoken in previous years. At this stage, it is impossible to say whether it is a narrative single-player adventure, an action-adventure game, or even an original multiplayer project.
For several years, Warner Bros. Games has clearly focused on its iconic franchises: Harry Potter, DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings... The development of this new IP could mark a strategic turning point, with the desire to create an original license in its own right, without relying on an existing universe.
