Xbox Game Pass welcomes two games, including an anticipated new release

April is over, and Xbox Game Pass has already revealed the games coming in May. But Microsoft's subscription service still has a few final surprises in store, with two additional titles: early access and a big AAA from Ubisoft. Perfect for kicking off the following month with a bang.

The last games of Xbox Game Pass for April 2025

We're starting on Xbox Game Pass with Towerborne, a game developed by Stoic, the studio behind The Banner Saga trilogy. This time, out goes the turn-based strategy: in comes pure cooperative action. In this cartoon-style beat 'em up, you play as an Aegis, a warrior returned from the dead to defend the last survivors of humanity. Up to four players can team up to explore, fight, and push back the darkness from the great central tower. Towerborne focuses on dynamic progression, fluid combat, and a fairly extensive customization system. Early access will allow players to follow its evolution through updates. A real opportunity to get involved in a project that aims for the long term.

Let's note one important element, however, Towerborne is planned to become a free-to-play game upon its official release, but its early access, reserved for Xbox Game Pass subscribers or buyers of founders' packs, allows the community to actively influence its development. Always good to know.

The list of games:

  • Towerborne
  • Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4 also available

We finish with the last big game of April and it's a completely different journey that the Xbox Game Pass offers with Far Cry 4. Released in 2014, this episode remains one of the most popular in the Ubisoft series. You play as Ajay Ghale, returning to his homeland, Kyrat, to scatter his mother's ashes. He quickly finds himself embroiled in a rebellion against Pagan Min, a dictator as elegant as he is insane.

It's up to you to choose your side, your tactics... and your weapons. Between free exploration, capturing enemy camps, hunting, side quests, and typically Ubisoft madness, Far Cry 4 offers rich content, a mountainous open world, and a consistently effective pace. At the time, it received a rating of 7/10 on Gameblog, but since then, the game has improved significantly thanks to various patches and updates. With Towerborne, which focuses on collaboration and the future, and Far Cry 4, a sure bet for single-player action games, Microsoft is ending April with a nice double on Xbox Game Pass.
