Avengers Doomsday: Magneto's daughter Polaris cast, here's who will play her

This is one of the most anticipated MCU films by Marvel fans. We're talking, of course, about the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, in which audiences will see actor Robert Downey Jr. again, but not in the Tony Stark/Iron Man costume, but rather in that of Doctor Doom (or Doctor Doom in the original version). While a good part of the casting was revealed a few weeks ago, we learned today that the character of Polaris would be part of the cast and that the studio would have found her interpreter.

An impressive cast for Avengers: Doomsday

To everyone's surprise, Marvel announced the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU to play the next villain of the franchise, namely Doctor Doom in the film Avengers: Doomsday. The actor won't be the only one making a return to the Marvel stable, as the Russo brothers, who directed Infinity War and Endgame, will be behind the camera. Last March, the studio revealed the names of a good part of the cast for Doomsday including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby who will make her Marvel debut as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: Beginning, Anthony Mackie who will put on his Captain America costume again, as well as X-Men like Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto) and Rebecca Romjin (Mystique).

Polaris, Magneto's daughter played by Neve Campbell (Scream)

Today, a new name has surfaced that could join this cast. Indeed, according to information from Alex Perez of the site thecosmiccirus.com, the actress Neve Campbell, known for playing Sidney Prescott in the horror saga Scream, has been chosen by Marvel to play the character of Lorna Dane aka Polaris.

For those who are not familiar with this character, she is a mutant who, like her father Magneto, has magnetic powers. She plays a prominent role in comics. She first appeared in the 1968 comic book Uncanny X-Men #49. However, she has never appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Note that for now, no official announcement has been made about the possible arrival of Neve Campbell in the MCU. If the information is correct, this would be a first for the 51-year-old Canadian-American actress. To find out, we just have to wait and see if Marvel or the main interested party will confirm this information.

As a reminder, Avengers: Doomsday is expected in French theaters on April 29, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released a year later, on May 5, 2027.
