Call of Duty: A leak reveals a radical change that will make players angry, it will hurt

The Call of Duty franchise has evolved considerably since its inception. The gameplay, in particular, has undergone some updates that have completely changed the way we experience games since 2003. However, not everything is always to the fans' liking. Indeed, new changes are expected, according to new leaks. Not only is this likely to displease, but it doesn't concern the mechanics. Get ready to get out your wallet.

The future of Call of Duty will be expensive

A wind of controversy is once again blowing over the Call of Duty franchise. Once again, leaks reveal something new to come for the next installment expected this year. However, this could once again be a cold shower for fans. After the rumors from the playtests, the new echoes this time concern the monetization policy of Black Ops 7.

For once, the leaks come from the internet user Hope (alias @TheGhostOfHope on X.com). According to the insider's sources, Activision and Treyarch are planning to review how the Battle Pass would work in Call of Duty Black Ops 7... and not in a good way. It could cost players dearly.

First of all, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will mark the return of temporary modes. As much as this type of content enriches the season passes, how far would fans be willing to go to take advantage of it? According to the leaks, Activision believes they could burn a lot of credit cards. Previously available for free, these modes would become paid with the new opus. The insider even got wind of the prices, estimated at between $20 and $30 per Battle Pass.

In this regard, say goodbye to the "Premium Event Track." However, expect the Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Battle Pass to offer more interesting skins and other rare loot than before. This would be a reward that, for Activision, would be enough to motivate players to go back to the checkout after paying €80 for the game. If the rumor is confirmed, it will mean that the publisher is very confident in the interest that fans may have in this type of additional content.
