The arrival of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has caused a real explosion in the video game industry. This video game, created by Sandfall Interactive in Montpellier, continues to be praised for its many qualities and breaks records one after the other. Just recently, its creative director Gillaume Broche revealed that he had achieved this new major feat with this French video game masterpiece.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33: the legendary Guillaume Broche reveals himself
While the video game industry has been stagnating for some time, the very young Montpellier studio Sandfall Interactive has managed to brilliantly revolutionize the JRPG genre and really kick the video game anthill into gear. If Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is so unanimously acclaimed by players and the press, it's not for nothing. The creative team has fully embraced the influence of big names in the genre, such as Final Fantasy and Persona (as well as FromSoftware's Dark Souls).
Since its release, the French game has continued to break records. With more than 2 million copies sold in just one month, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has even managed to become the highest-rated game of all time by players on Metacritic. The game's creator, Guillaume Broche, is far from being a novice player. His former YouTube channel is a testament to his great gaming skills, and the creative director has achieved a major feat in his own game. The average time to complete Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is estimated at 25 hours of play (as our JV colleagues remind us) and Guillaume achieved the feat of finishing it in 2h14. (As he recently confided on the set of the show Les Termes hosted by the duo Le Joueur du Grenier, he is "a bad speed-runner" of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and has played more than a thousand hours of Elden Ring.)
Guillaume Broche did not hesitate to offer the community the challenge of beating his record and completing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 even faster. A record that was surpassed by a Frenchman with the nickname deSamerlifofwer with 1 hour 32 minutes and 46 seconds.
