Crunchyroll has a surprise for Demon Slayer fans

Crunchyroll has a surprise for Demon Slayer fans

To end on a high note, the Demon Slayer anime will be releasing its final story arc in theaters with a trilogy of feature films. The first film will be released in French theaters starting September 17th, and unsurprisingly, fans are getting impatient. The fourth season of the anime—which adapted the Hashira training arc—has been airing for a year, and the increasing pressure of the storyline isn't exactly conducive to patience. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures have therefore decided to offer viewers an interim event that will allow them to relive a key chapter of the anime on the big screen.

On June 14 and 15, the feature film Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train will return to theaters with stunning 4K visuals. This re-release will be an opportunity for fans who missed the theatrical release in 2021 to catch up, while enjoying an additional surprise.

By the way, what is Mugen Train about?

When it was released in 2021, this film bridged the gap between the first season of Demon Slayer and the second, which was scheduled to air a few months later. The Mugen Train arc is repeated in the first 7 episodes of season 2. Here is its synopsis:

A first look at the next film

What better way to motivate viewers to (re)discover the confrontation against Enmu on the Mugen Train than to offer the first images of the next arc? Fans will have every interest in staying until the very end of the film since an exclusive preview of the feature film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Infinite Fortress will be broadcast on this occasion. Crunchyroll has not specified, however, whether these will be the first minutes of the new film or a specific extract. See you next month for the verdict. The release dates of the other two feature films that will complete the final trilogy have not yet been announced.
