A few days before its launch, several secrets of the Galaxy S25 Edge have been revealed. Colors, design, camera, battery, AI, here is the latest information on Samsung's ultra-thin and ultra-light smartphone.
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be unveiled on May 13th (at 2 a.m. in France). The event will reveal the product's release date and price, but otherwise, we already know a lot about the device. Android Headlines has released marketing visuals from Samsung, giving us a good look at the device's design and some of its specs.
According to the images, the brand's ultra-thin and lightweight smartphone will be available in three colors: black, sky blue, and white. Samsung insists that despite its thinness, the phone remains durable, highlighting a titanium design, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen protection, and IP68 waterproof certification.
Galaxy S25 Edge: no telephoto lens, but 2x optical zoom
We already knew this, as Samsung mentioned it when announcing the launch date, that the main camera sensor has a resolution of 200 MP. However, we learn here that it will offer a “2x optical quality zoom”, while the S25 Edge does not have a dedicated telephoto lens. The second rear lens is a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle. A selfie camera, also 12 MP, is housed on the front in the now traditional central punch.
As for performance, the visuals do not indicate the identity of the SoC that will power the smartphone, but it should be the same Snapdragon 8 Elite as for the other Galaxy S25s. Unsurprisingly, Samsung's communication will mainly revolve around Galaxy AI features.
In terms of battery life, the manufacturer promises a battery that lasts all day, without knowing its exact capacity. This point will be particularly scrutinized, because there is concern that such a thin smartphone may not be able to carry a sufficient battery to offer good endurance. Let's hope that Samsung proves our doubts unfounded and that the Galaxy S25 Edge is optimized to the smallest detail to limit its energy consumption.
